In recognition of Mizzou Botanic Garden’s 25th anniversary, Smith spoke about MU’s transformative history leading up to Wallace’s approval of MU’s designation as a botanic garden in 1999. In honor of the Garden’s 25th anniversary, Landscape Services and Friends of the Mizzou Botanic Garden board dedicated a Tribute Tree honoring Wallace and his wife Patricia.
