Ellis Library is the main library building on campus and serves as a federal depository.  It is arguably one of the most used buildings on campus.  The Ellis gardens were designed to accentuate its prominence on campus and are a fitting tribute to its role at Mizzou.

Located on the west side of the library, the gardens are a bright and colorful invitation to linger and enjoy the area. These gardens also constitute an important site for horticulture students to learn plant identification and herbaceous plant maintenance. In particularly, this garden includes hostas, stokes aster, hardy geraniums, fall asters, and epimedium.
