Dawn Redwood   –   Metasequoia glyptostroboides

Once believed extinct, the Dawn Redwood was found in 1941 in the Szechwan Province of China.

It is a fast-growing, tall, conical tree suited for planting in open areas. The deciduous foliage turns

rusty orange in the fall and the bark is cinnamon colored.
