Colorado Blue Spruce – Picea pungens
This attractive tree is native to the higher elevations of the Rocky Mountains. It is adaptable to
many soil types and the spruce-of-choice for landscaping. Its blue color, which varies between
plants, is due to a waxy cuticle layer on the needles.
